Welcome

A WELCOME FROM THE HEADTEACHER

Welcome to Taverham High School and Sixth Form Centre, a fantastic and successful 11-18 school that I am proud and privileged to be Headteacher of. Over recent years, our school has gone from strength to strength, with students achieving the best results in the school’s history and taking up places at prestigious universities and post-18 providers, and in a range of exciting and diverse careers.

Ours is a school that prides itself on providing exceptional opportunities for the community we serve, helping to develop independent, well-informed, respectful and successful young people who will go on to contribute positively to the communities they choose to live in. We are an unapologetically ambitious school and we hope to have the support of all parents, carers and students in creating an environment where everyone can be the very best version of themselves. We understand that underpinning this are excellent relationships between staff, students and parents/carers. Good communication, trust and respect provide the basis on which we nurture and develop the unique gifts and talents of our young people.

Our aim is for your children to enjoy coming to school, to feel rewarded for their efforts and achievements, to feel challenged and supported everyday through engaging and inspiring tasks and activities, and to develop their social and communication skills by collaborating with their peers in productive and positive ways. We know those are ambitious aims, but we believe they are the very least that all children deserve from their education.

Our students are proud of our school, which is a happy, safe and enjoyable place to learn. We are fortunate to have first class school buildings providing the very best environment for learning. We also understand the importance of offering as wide a range of extra-curricular opportunities as possible to build confidence, team-building skills, a thirst for knowledge and a love of learning, but also to give students those memories of their school years that they will look back fondly on for the rest of their lives. Our students are our greatest advocates and our biggest assets; without their positive attitude the school would not be the same place. We are as proud of them as they are of their school.

While I hope this prospectus gives you some sense of the school and the opportunities we offer, to truly gain a feel for our school, I would warmly invite you to visit us, by either calling 01603 860505 or emailing office@ taverhamhigh.org to make an appointment. My team and I would be delighted to meet with you and happy to show you our school and answer any of your questions. We look forward to welcoming you soon.
